House Hunt In The Rain!

Is this what it looks like outside your door today?  Well I’m not going to complain we need all the rain we can get!  Were you thinking about going house hunting this weekend?  Don’t cancel yet!

Looking at homes in the rain may get you a little wet, but there is a lot to learn!  It’s the perfect time to look at homes in my opinion.  Here are just a few of the things you can learn about homes while looking at them in the rain.

• How water drains off the property
• Roof leaks
• Basement leaks
• Clogged Gutters
• Do creeks around the property rise rapidly
• Have decks or fences been staind recently?  Water will beed up if they have.
• Does water run off of the neighbors property on to the subject property?
• Is the yard muddy?  Kids love to bring it inside on your carpet!

These are just a few of the things you can learn by looking at houses in the rain.  Many of these items may go unoticed on a sunny spring day because you are too busy looking at the flowers and landscape to realize that little stone path turns into a river when it rains!  So don’t change your plans this weekend just because you could get a little wet. That home you looked at last week that was perfect and you thought ”that sloped driveway could be a problem when it rains”  may not be an issue at all!  You could just learn a few more things about the property you are viewing if you get out there rain or shine!
